Giraffe…

That is one of my favorite pictures. I took this picture at our class trip. The all day I tried to get some cool picture and on the last moment I saw the giraffes eating from the tree. I thought maybe that will look nice. It turned amazing and I love it.

Peacock’s lovely colors………

I took this photo at the Woodland Park Zoo. I change the colors a little bit to make it brighter. I also put black and dark blue lines around the picture to make the blue color of the Peacock come more out. I am very happy with the results.

Merry Christmas!

I took picture of my cousin. I worked a lot on this picture and I am very happy with it.

Time to swim…

I took this picture because I liked how the penguin swum. I also used the picture for my shutter speed assignment. I really like how the penguin is in focus and the lighting is also good. I am very happy with this picture.

Chicken…

I took this picture because I liked how the chicken was looking. I did crop the picture because only the face was in focus.

Walking Bird

By: Melissa Parker

This picture was taken at the zoo. I really like this picture because of the colors. I didn’t do much to edit this photo except to make the colors a little bit brighter.

Christmas Lights

By: Melissa Parker

We had to do an assignment for the month of December and the theme was night. So since Christmas is in December I decided to take pictures of peoples lights. This yard was really pretty. All of the grass was covered with green lights, the bushes were covered with green lights, and there were lighted figures everywhere. This is like one of the houses that you would see in the newspaper for being so decorative.

The Hopping Kangaroo

By: Melissa Parker

This is one of my favorite pictures from the zoo. I like this picture because of how the branches frame his face and there are trees one each side of him. The kangaroo is really the center of interest here. I think that I got him at perfect timing.

Pretty Bird

By: Melissa Parker

This picture was taken at the Wildwood Park Zoo. This bird sat so still for so long and let me get so many pictures of him. I liked this one the best because of how he is focused but then the leaves in the background are not as focused. I didn’t do too much editing in this picture. I mainly just cropped it and fixed a little bit of the color.

The Walking Ostrich

By: Melissa Parker

I really like this picture because of the colors. I like how his feathers look really dark and then the grass is such a light green with the orange leaves. I did do some editing to this photo though. I changed a little bit of the contrast and the brightness of the photo.

State Swim Meet

By Joanna Boschee`

At the King County Aquatic Center, where the state swim meet was held, they have a large American flag and smaller flags for the other countries. I was able to capture a picture of the flag with the swimmers and the pool below. I like how well it turned out and the lighting too.

Rain Forest

By Joanna Boschee`

This photo is really foggy and not in focus because it was really warm and misty in that area of the zoo. But I played around with the contrast and I’m happy with how much better I made it.

Stretching

By Joanna Boschee`

This isn’t a very attractive picture, but hey I still think it was cute. I don’t like that the other gorilla was in the picture off to the side, but oh well. I think the lighting turned out good on this one.

Nap Time

By Joanna Boschee`

The gorillas at the zoo were a lot of fun to take pictures of, especially this one. It’s not in very good focus but I like how he looked when he was sleeping. I didn’t change anything, but I might play with it in Photoshop.

Distant Waterfall

By Joanna Boschee`

Here is photo taken at the zoo on our field trip. The waterfalls are in the distant and are surrounded by trees. I didn’t change anything to the photo and I’m not very happy about the focus.

Elevator

I took this picture in Bellevue and I really ended up liking it; it’s nothing amazing but it still has a lot of character to it, with the light against the dark, probably one of my favorites for this bunch.

Corn Fields

I really like this picture because of the depth of the field but also the lighting really catches my eye, I have a couple more like this but this was my favorite. Let me know what you think!

Reflection

I took this shot at a Christmas store earlier this year and I really like that you can see the store in the ornament but it’s a little grainy which makes this shot a little iffy for me; still I think it’s a pretty exciting picture.

Old Spaghetti Factory

I am not a huge fan of this picture but I really do like how much the title of the restaurant stands out, I only cropped the picture so it would be the main focus.

Smile!

This is my little brother; he wasn’t in the best mood so I tried my best to get him to smile and when I finally did this was the outcome, I basically only took the picture because of how adorable he is!

Berry-Nice

I used a 60mm lens to take this. The only editing I did was the crop. I’m very happy with the contrast of colors and application of ruled or thirds.

Night Light

Like I said my parents love decorating! I don’t particularly like this picture but I do like the focus and color.

Electric Night

My parents go Christmas crazy, especially with the lights outside. This year they bought three trees that light up in different colors. In this photo I angled myself so that I captured the star and the treed behind it. I didn’t edit anything except the crop.

Taking Responsibility for the Earth and Environment

I took this is the back trails of Decoursey park. This is an older one but I found it searching through old files. I really liked the lighting and the shapes of the trees.

Full Blown Chaos

Obviously I made this picture black and white, but I also removed a house from it. Yes, a house. I changed the saturation level so that her face could show a slight contrast.

Sun kissed

Another picture that I took on my way to ocean shores, and it is my favorite out of the two buildings but I only cropped to cut off some of my car, that’s it.

Strength

However this picture is a little blurry close-up, I love it. I cropped it just a little to focus more on the tree and debated whether it should be in color or in black and white and went with color just because of the sky. Probably my favorite, let me know what you think.

Mushaboom

In my back yard there were about 4 patches of huge mushrooms and I just thought that they would make a pretty neat close up picture, and I still think it is. Hope you do too!

Destruction

This was taken right outside my school, they were tearing down an old house and I just thought it was kind of cool because it was foggy out and just seeing it as pretty neat. But I did a lot of experimentation with this picture and I can’t remember all of it. Hope you like it though!

Rocky’s

This picture was taken on my way to Ocean Shores; I really liked the shot because of the lighting behind the building, the only editing I did was cropping.

Time!

I took this picture for our close up assignment. I tried to zooming enough to get a nice picture. That is my favorite one from sixty pictures. The lighting on the watch is just right. I think black and white fits it perfectly, and the main subject is nice in the center.

Stop!

I took this picture for the night project. I really enjoy taking picture at nigth, because it was something different. The only thing that I didn’t like was the cold weather. I made the image black and white and then made the stop sign the origin color. The most interesting thing on this pictuer is the car. Actually you don’t see the car, but you still can see the number of the car very sharp. I thought it is kind cool.

Darkness of the Monkey!

I took this picture at the zoo and this is my favorite one. I like the body language of the monkey and the sharpness of the monkey. I didn’t use any sort of editing for this picture.

Red & Yellow …

I took this picture a while ago. I changed a lot of things in this picture. If you look very good at the picture you will see that one flower is coming up more than others. That makes my picture special.

Sneak Attack!

I took this picture in my field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. I change the colors of the picture. First, I made everything black and white. Secondly, I used the history brush tool to bring the original color of the animal. Lastly, I used different adjustments effect to give the picture a special effect. The picture did turn out the way I wanted to, and I am very happy with it.

Balance

I liked the rings on the ground coming off this light I saw. So I told my friend to stand on the light so I could take a picture. Another reason I took this picture is because I liked the clouds in the background.

Gnarly

This photo is titled gnarly because that is what it is. My friend Ryan had to gap 3 feet from the street to a waist high guard rail around a drain and take it back in the tranny. This picture is proof of the gnarly ness that went down that day.

Guard Rail

My friend Ryan and I were skating on this secret road we know, and he got an idea to board slide and 50-50 this guard rail. I like this picture because Ryan is so clear even though he’s going around mach 3.

Tre Flip

I was skating meeker with my cousin and some friends, when Tom kept throwing some tight stuff down this four. I took some pictures because I knew some would turn out. I like this one because tom is at the peak of this trick and is about to catch it perfectly.

Beaming sun of Awsomeness

I was waiting for AAA to come and unlock my car because I locked my keys in there. To kill some time I whipped out my camera and took some pictures. I saw this tree sitting in the sun and I tried to get some sun rays in the shot. Overall I like how it turned out.

Volunteer-led Investigations of Neighborhood Ecology

Photo: Katie Danner

I took this photograph at my grandmother’s house a while back. It was originally in color but I really the effect that the black and white brings to it. I cropped the photo to make the center of interest more dramatic. Other than that, I didn’t alter the picture. :]]

Portuguese East Africa (now Mozambique)

This is another picture from my adventure to the Point Defiance Zoo. I like it primarily because the peacock’s feathers are completely fanned out and the colors are so vibrant. I only cropped this picture because I wanted to show off the original colors of the photograph. If I had decided to change the picture I may have changed it to black and white to see the different possibilities.

Dutch Open Telescope

I don’t particularly like the placement of the subject in this photo but I really like the lighting and the focus. It’s very vibrant and very true to the flower. The dots on the petals are my favorite part. I didn’t do anything but crop this picture. But overall, I’m happy with it.

It’s a Skink!

I was at the Point Defiance Zoo a while back this is one of the pictures I returned with. I’m really happy with it. My focus was pretty good for the lens that I had to work with. I haven’t altered the picture at all except for some cropping. If I were to change anything I would play around with saturation, color balance and just see what other effects I could come up with.

Birthday Cake

This picture simply amuses me. It was from my mother and my uncle’s birthday party and it really just makes me laugh. I wish that there was nothing above the cake, but the colors on the cake, including the candles, really gives it a funny character. To me, it portrays nerdy, because of the tilted candles and the less the legible writing. It reflects both my mother and my uncle and I really like that. They are great people. :]]

Christmas Truck

Our assignment was taking photos at night. Out of all them this is the one that turned out best. The people had decorated their truck with lights and I thought it was a lot of fun. It is a little blurry but capturing the light was hard.

State Swim Meet

Please don’t criticize me too much on this picture, because believe it or not I worked really hard on it! Ha-ha I did a lot of editing and took out some things that were in the way of the girl diving into the water. I’m glad I did it though because now she is in better focus. I hope you all like it.

I’m watching you!

I took this picture in my field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. That is my best picture from the trip. I really like how he looks to the camera, and he is in the center of the frame. I am really happy with this picture.

Spider!

I took this picture in my field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. I am not scary of spiders and in this shot I went very close to the spider. I really like the colors of spider and I think the black background makes your eye drawn into the photo.

Nyika Primary School!

I took this picture in my field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. That is how the schools look like long time ago. If you are not happy with your school than what did you do if you were in the Nyika Primary School.
