Fall Time

I took this picture of these trees because I really like the lay out of it the tall tree’s and then the lower tree’s all the same color. I love the colors in fall time and I think I took this picture very well.

Pumpkin Face

This picture I love the most, I love how focused it is and it was morning so there is still water from the sprinklers on the face. I most proud of how focused it is and the color is so bright.

Volleyball

I love how I got an action shot with this picture. It was hard for me to take these pictures while people where moving because I like take still shots. But I tried my best and I think it was an overall good picture. I love all the different colors and the smile and the one boys face. They looked like that had fun and were into the game as much as I was.

The Bird

I was just taking pictures in my house when I randomly took this photo. I really liked this little metal bird my mom bought, the picture gives a classic kind of feel with the neutral color scheme as well.

Maggie’s Eye

When testing out my macro lens, I took a photo of my friend’s very striking blue eyes since she volunteered. I love the detail captured in the iris and around the eye. I’ve never taken a close up detail shot of a person before so I’m happy with my first time results.

Yawn

I love taking pictures of my cat, so that’s what I did. I waited until she did something cute (in this case, yawning) then snapped a photo. I darkened up the photo a bit to bring out her eyes.

Zombie Krysten

Description: This is how I spent my Halloween night. I set up a little studio in the corner of my bedroom and put face paint on my cousin. I’m really glad she puts up with me. I love how these pictures turned out because no matter how scary she tries to be, she’ll always be cute. I wish the make-up would have stayed on better. It started to run after a while and I didn’t notice until after I had taken the pictures.

Dedication

Description: On Thursday, October 29th, Puyallup High School had a dedication to the new building where people who had something to do with the planning, building, or creating of the building were mentioned and thanked. They had a ceremony with our ASB President Alex and our principal Mr. Smith along with some other important people in the making of the building. I thought I captured a good moment where they were all looking in the same direction. The lighting was really good outside that day.

Dirty Ground

Description: I was walking through the pumpkin patch in Orting trying to find and interesting way to photograph the pumpkins in a way someone wouldn’t have thought of before. I thought I had got all the pumpkins before I nearly tripped over this one. It was just sitting on the ground without any other little pumpkins around. I thought it would be best to use a good depth of field and should be close to the ground. I love the way this picture came out.

Time

After it rained I went outside and took pictures of the water drops. The chemicals on the new cement made the water drops just bubble up. I did not do any changes to the picture and just left it how it was.

The Boys

This is a picture I took when we we’re making drinks in our school espresso bar. I was the manager and I wanted to get pictures of the team working. I saw them goofing off and I thought it would be the perfect time to get a picture. I didn’t change much but I did change the auto colors.

Single Pumpkin

I believe this is my best picture. I zoomed in just right making sure the foreground and subject were very in focus and crystal clear to the person looking at the picture. The background is very out of focus making it so you almost always look at the main subject the pumpkin, although if you want to get curious you can try and make out what’s in the background.

Big Old Box

I walked up to this huge box of pumpkins they were looking good. So I decided to take a picture of them. It turned out great I really like it it’s a very good representation of fall. In the picture I used the clear subject from elements of composition to maintain clear focus on what the actual subject of the picture was.

Weird pumpkins

I went to Picha pumpkin patch to capture some pictures of pumpkins and other fall objects. Little did I know I would capture some great pictures. I walked over to these awkward looking pumpkins and though they would look cool. I took the picture so that the subject is in focus and everything around it is out of focus

Maze

I took this picture at Picha farms of their corn make. I have a few memories in this corn maze and that’s why I wanted to take a picture of it. I used auto adjustments so it would be a little more vibrant. I love how in the picture the corn path leads your eyes to the end of the opening.

Peek a boo

I took this picture of my brother Chris at Picha Farms popping out of the corn stalks. I love this picture because the contrast of colors, the corn stalks start out bright green then as they fade up turn a more dull color. I also love the clarity of the picture.

Rain Drops

This is a picture I took in my backyard right after I had come home from the pumpkin patch. I have always wanted to get a really close up picture of raindrops but none of my pictures had ever turned out. I love this picture because of how clear it turned out, and how green the grass is makes a great contrast for the picture.

Pin to Win

This shot is of my friend Donavan attempting a very complex pinning combination. I attempted to catch him in the middle of his move to show the action and intensity. The unique thing about this photo is that these two kids are best friends and love to wrestle together and push each other to go to state. I am very happy with the results and if I was to try something different, it may be to capture a pin during a wrestling match.

Bossin’

This is a very unique photo to me because it is capturing father and son. This is after a hard wrestling workout that included live wrestling and tough conditioning. What I attempted to do was catch the coach talking as well as have his son in the background. I am very happy with these results and I feel like the weight room in the back is a good added effect.

Runnin’ Doubles

In this photo I attempted to catch a shot of a takedown at wrestling practice. The unique part of this picture that I like is how his tattoo is showing on his leg as well as the kid in mid motion getting taken down. I am very happy with the results and would do nothing different with this photo.

Love Mug

This is one of my favorite mugs that we have at my house. My mom gave it to me a few years ago for Valentines Day. The focus is really good and I like the way that the handle from a pan is blurred out right in front of the mug. It almost looks like you’re peering through something to see the mug.

Pink Flower

I really like the angle of this photo and the colors. I also like the little buds around the flower. I cropped the photo just a little bit to take some of the blank sides off and so that the flower filled the frame a little bit. I also adjusted the contrast and levels to lighten the photo up a little. The only thing that I don’t like about the photo is the bud that is in front of the flower that is out of focus. I think that it takes some of the focus off of the flower.

Brick Light

I used a very good technique to capture this picture. It was the rule of thirds making it so the main object of the picture is only in one third of the photo. Also the lines from the bricks lead you to the subject which is the light. This makes it clear what the subject in the picture is. I feel it captures old school brick housing and how it used to be, it’s a good representation of an older house and the quality of them.

Space Heater

I was trying to make the background out of focus. I focused the camera on the space heater and captured the full details of the object. I applied depth of field to my picture to give it more of an attracting look. It turned out well and I’m happy with what it looks like. It also captures the season fall in the background with big leaves!

Running Water

This is a picture I took at school of the sink in the girl’s bathroom. I like this picture because I was able to capture the movement of water in a picture. Capturing a picture of water while its moving can be really hard getting one come out clear, that is why I thought this was so cool.

Trigger

This is another picture of my puppy Trigger posing for me. I love this picture because he is staring straight at me with his head tilted and the picture shows how floppy his ears are. I love to take pictures of him and this is one of my favorites because it shows his personality, which like almost any puppy or baby is a lot of curiosity!

Puppy Love

This is a picture of my puppy Trigger playing outside. I love to capture pictures of him and this is one of my favorites because he is doing what he loves, eating a bone and lying outside in the sun. I didn’t change anything to this photo, and I love how I can see little details about Trigger.

Flashing Lights

This photograph was taken while walking around the Puyallup Fair. There are so many great photo opportunities there so I decided to snap a few shots of the rides. I like how this picture shows the plethora of colors that are around the fair. I took this photo so that there would be a wide shot of the rides. I really like how this one turned out.

Chop

Photographer: Max Bylin

This is a picture of a piece of a wooden deck at my friend Spencer’s house. I didn’t edit this photo at all which is why I chose it to post, I think that the lines that you can see make an interesting combination with the blur.

Oh No, Spencer!

Photographer: Max Bylin

I was at my friend Spencer’s house when I saw that he was lighting things on fire with lighter fluid. I then decided that if he was going to burn his house down, I should at least try to get an interesting picture out of it.

I Love You

Photographer: Bailey H.

These stuffed animals were in our craft room in my house. This room use to be used for my moms gift basket business. The stuffed animals were left over from her valentines baskets. The stuffed bears so conveniently were set up in this exact position. I just decided to take a picture of it and it turned out to be good.

Welcome to Autumn

Photographer: Bailey H.

I was in my back yard taking photos for one of my assignments and I found this one to be more interesting than the others. This one reminded me of Autumn because you can tell that the colors of the leaves are changing in the tree.

Bubble Bee

This picture is so cool to me. I love how a bee just came buzzing a long and landed on the very flower I was taking a picture of. I love the two different color of colors, and how the back round is all blurry. Flowers are so cool to photograph they all are different in there unique ways.

Dog

I love how this dog is looking up at me. The back round is my favorite I couldn’t ask for a better one. This dog loved the camera.

Frogs

Another picture taken by the for sale house across from us. A large bush had a dozen or so frogs on it, so I got down on my knees and attempted to capture the image. I balanced the color out on Photoshop and cropped a lot of unnecessary background from the shot. I’m really happy with the way the frogs were posed when I took the shot.

White Rose

A photo of a rose I snuck into my neighbor’s garden to get, probably the only untouched rose left. I didn’t do anything to manipulate this shot beside balancing the color levels a bit on Photoshop and I’m really happy with the results and how it looks so natural.

Rose on a fence

For this photo I had to edit just a little bit. I changed the color to make the rose stand out more and cropped some of the fence out. I just thought it would be a cool photo because of the contrast in the wood in the fence and the flower pedals. I really like how this photo turned out.

Little Ballerina

This photo was taken at my neighbor’s house. I had a couple assignments due so I went next door and started taking pictures. Some she was just being herself, playing in the yard. This photo was one of them. I did some editing there was a mail box and a couple things in the way I cut out. I also changed the color to black and white and adjusted the shades a little bit. I think this photo turned out really cute.

Ggrrr

Taken by: Sarah M.

This photo was my little cousin being crazy. I told him to smile and this is what he did. The picture came out a little bit too dark. When I was editing it I thought it was bright enough but it really just needed to be taken in better light. Overall I think the photo expresses who he really is and I really like it.

Laughter

My cousin Krysten has the cutest laugh I have ever heard, and I really wanted to try and get her laugh in a picture, and I think this picture gets it almost perfect. I love how you can see the happiness in her face, and the blurred background.

Performance

For our fair theme I took pictures at the Coheed and Cambria concert I went to. I love this photograph because all of the band members look like they are really into what they are doing. The concert was great, and this photograph captures the feel of it. I like it a lot better in black and white than I did in color, and I love the length of the photo.

Hands

This photo wasn’t that hard to take because she was holding her self up so she wasn’t really moving her hand that much. I like taking picture of close up things like babies hands of flowers and things like that so this is my favorite photo. I like how the hair that she had in her hand came out very clear. I am very happy with the way the photo turned out I couldn’t have done it any better.

Confused

This photo was a little hard to take because she would not stop moving and it would always come out blurry. What I did was I was lying on the floor and had her look over the edge of her toy. I tried different setting to try and get the photo clear but then I finally found one. I thought the funny thing about this photo was that I made her smile and went to take the shot and it turned out like this. I like the way it turned out because this is a face that she doesn’t make very often she is always smiling.

Smoke on the Bottle

This is a picture I took at a tie dye booth inside of the Puyallup Fair. I really like the way this picture turned out with the smoke flowing out of the bottle and the tie dyed shirts in the background. The picture was taken close up, making the tie dye out of focus, creating a very unique background.

Wind Chime

I was at my grandpa’s lake house fishing and while I wasn’t catching any fish I decided to take some pictures. This is a wind chime that I changed the color of and made it look like a gummy wind chime.

Red, White and Blue

By: Lena M.

This is a picture that I took while I was at Bradley Lake. I was walking under the flag and I realized the way the light was hitting, and I loved it. I love the sky behind the flag, and I love the color in the flag. I’m really happy with the way this picture turned out.

Dominic D

By: Lena M.

This is also a picture of my boyfriend Dom. I was sitting behind him, and I saw this picture. Unfortunately, he moved so I couldn’t take the picture, but I did make him stand there again so I could take the picture. I love the high contrast with the sun shining in the background. I also took out a few power lines in this picture because they were right in the middle of the houses so it looked really distracting.

Chalk Nonsense

By: Lena M.

This is a picture that I took of Dom while he was coloring my tires with chalk. I love this picture because it’s off center, and I love the short depth of field. I like the fact that I made him out of focus, while my car is in focus. I took out some power lines in the sky because they were kind of distracting.

One Love

By: Lena M.

This is a picture that I took while I was outside with my boyfriend Dom. It was really hot outside, so we were drawing with sidewalk chalk in the street. I drew a peace sign and wrote “Lena & Dom” and then wrote “One Love”. I really like this picture because I love all the colors in it, and I love the angle in which I took the picture. I liked the picture better before I cropped it 8x10, but I still really like it.
