The 5 Cory’s

Well my friend lacey and I were taking our pictures for our multiples of me. I really had a lot of fun with this assignment up until the editing portion. I just took all the pictures and cropped it out and put them back into 1 picture.

Mike and Lena see an alien

Well we were in a studio and we they were making some funny faces. This one was my favorite poses that they did. I kinda messed up on her finger a little bit. Also I changed the background a little bit.

Underwater Preservation

This is in my backyard. I think it is really interesting how the water magnifies anything underneath it. Also, I was lucky to have the water be so still. I love the vibrancy of the leaves, and the lighting.

Bald Eagle

This was just a happen-chance picture. I was outside the mall and happened to look up and see this bald eagle. I like the contrast and the single center of interest that is so obvious. I wish there was a way to have gotten a closer shot, but I only had the standard lens.

Focus

This was another of my depth of field shots. I like how bits and pieces are alternately in focus and out of focus. I also like the color of the branches, and the way the light touches them.

Broken Glass

This picture was taken for my depth of field assignment. I really like this picture because it seems kind of like a worm hole with the piece of broken bottle at the center. It sucks the eye to the center of interest. I also like how the glass is so bright compared to everything else, it really stands out.

North Star

By: Lena M.

This is a picture of the Bryan Clock tower at WSU. At night, the clock tower glows red, which acts as a north star, so people can find their way back to a familiar part of campus. This picture looked better before I cropped it, but overall I like it. I like how the tree covers most of it.

2000 Persons

By: Lena M.

This is another picture that I took while I was at WSU. This was in one of the gyms. I really liked how the sign seemed old. I also loved the dimness of the sign, in contrast to the bright green light of the exit sign.

Hey Mike

By: Lena M.

This is a picture that I took during class of my friend Mike. I really like this picture because Mike has a really strong face that photographs well. I turned it into black and white because I sometimes find color overrated. The focus is somewhat soft, but I like it. I also like how his eyes aren’t really open all the way. It gives him character.

The Corner of Monroe and Stadium Way

By: Lena M.

I took this picture while I was at Washington State University. We were on our way back to campus and I started taking pictures of some of the houses. This picture is of a house that’s right off campus. I like how the picture is in the background and the street sign is the designated subject.

Kaitlyn

For the selective color assignment I had noticed that my friend Kaitlyn was wearing a black jacket with a pink hood. I asked to take a picture and then put it in black and white and then colored back in her hood. I only noticed that her face was a little bit blurry after I had started to edit the picture but I still thought that it was ok.

Candle Holders

I took this photo for the depth of field assignment. I think it turned out good and I like how the foreground and background is out of focus but the candle holder in the middle is in focus. And I didn’t edit it at all.

Love

I took this photo of conversation hearts for the February theme love. I like how it turned out and all I did when editing it was crop the photo.

Dance

This is a photo that I took for the winter sports photo journalism assignment. My best friend is on our school’s dance team so I went to the dance competition at Interlake High School to take photos. I took this photo of one of the girls on the team during drill down. When I saw her sitting down on the floor by herself I thought it would make a pretty cool photo. I didn’t edit it much, just cropped it and messed around with the color a little bit. I really like how it turned out.

Backyard Angel

Artist: Kaitlyn O.

This picture was taken for the depth of field assignment. It was of an angel in my aunt’s backyard with a stone and tree in the background. All I did was edit with the colors and add some more contrast.

Think Pink

Artist: Kaitlyn O.

This picture was for selective color. It was taken at my grandfather’s funeral. They were really pretty bright pink flowers that someone brought and I thought it was beautiful. I didn’t do that well with adding the color back in because I didn’t really see one of the leaves that was drooping downward. But it just goes to show not everyone can do selective color perfectly

Lonely Road

Artist: Kaitlyn O.

This is another picture I took while driving to Snoqualmie except for there was a moment were it looked like almost all the other cars were ahead of use and it seemed like we were almost all alone on the road. I love the color of the mountains peeking threw the trees ahead of us. I didn’t do anything to edit this picture

Mountain High

Artist: Kaitlyn O.

This is a picture I took while my mother and I were driving to Snoqualmie for the weekend. I like this picture because I haven’t edited it in any way and I love the natural color of the photo. Just about everything in the picture is clear.

Drop Dead Gorgeous

This picture is another selective color picture. My friend Nik got a new drop dead gorgeous jacket and was showing it off to some people so I took a picture of it. I really like how he didn’t have to much red on his jacket, just enough.

Skyline

I took this picture in my front yard. I thought it was very interesting because the trees and telephone poles are pretty much black except the clouds.

Colorful Bird

This picture was for our selective color assignment. I couldn’t find my manipulated picture of this but I put it in Grayscale, then kept the bird except the springs in color.

Nut Cracker

The assignment I did this picture for was the Holiday Theme. I think I could have made the image more interesting by adding some effects to it.

Christmas Time

I took this picture for our Holiday Theme. I haven’t manipulated anything on it. I think I could have improved the sharpness of it, it is a little fuzzy.
