Flower

This picture I took outside of my house. The picture turned out to look nice. I like how the background came blurry and green and the flower in focus.

Mountains

This picture I took in my neighborhood outside. I really liked how the pictures turned out to look like. The mountains in the background look very nice. The little bit of tree makes the picture look better.

Water

This picture I took when I was going to California. I looked outside and there was a very nice view so I took a picture. I changed the color a little with photoshop.

Flowers

This picture I took outside in front of my house. The flowers color turned out to look very nice. I like the how the background turned out blurry.

Working in the Garden

I took this portrait of my brother when we volunteered at a community garden. I thought it would make a good environmental portrait. It was a sunny day that gave a good natural lighting within the picture. You can also really see the gardening environment portrayed through the picture and you can see the hard work going on.

A Day With Beau

I took this portrait of my friend Ashley, with a dog named Beau. We were at the park and I thought it would make a good environmental portrait. I also really like how the trail leads the viewers eye through the picture, and I think the bold colors blend together and stand out well within the portrait.

Color Splash

I did this picture for my selective color assignment. I like the way the faded colors of the basketball hoop stand out against the black and white background. I also really like the foggy windows in the background. It kind of gives the picture a mysterious feel.

Springtime!

I like this photo because I think it portrays spring time really well. The sense of green in the picture, with the one yellow flower really makes the picture pop, and you feel the flowers starting to bloom. I really like the depth of field also, how the foreground is focused, and the background is out of focus. I think it adds a good effect to the photo.

A day at the park.

This picture I took for an assignment when we had to take environmental pictures. My friend’s niece was singing around on this toy and I took a picture of her. I really like how the lighting is in this picture.

Rex

This photo is of my little brother’s toy dinosaur. I saw him playing with it, and I thought that it would make a cool picture. I edited the color and saturation in Photoshop, as well as I messed with the Black and White feature to give it the effect it has. Then I played with the contrast.

Shred White And Blue

This photo is of my parents’ bed sheets. I liked the bright red, white, and blue colors. As well as I thought the texture was interesting and I figured it would make a cool picture. I put the focus on manual, and tried messing around with the settings to get a uniquely focused picture.

Solid State

In this photo is my amp and guitar. What’s interesting is the angle in which I took the photo. I left the color and the saturation untouched in this photo, because I thought it naturally looked bright. I think the color is the strongest aspect of this photo.

Whitepass

Photo description: I took this picture when I was going up the lift to go snowboarding. It was a perfect day for taking pictures because the sun was out and the views where great. I used Photoshop to brighten the picture and enhance the color.

Coca Cola

Photo description: I took this picture when I was doing the color theme assignment. Every picture I took had red in it. For this picture I used Photoshop to enhance the color and brighten the back ground.

Pink flower

Photo description: I took this picture for a project called selective color. I was trying to take pictures with a object in them that would standout when I turned the whole picture black and white. I used Photoshop to discard the color and then I used RGB color and history brush to bring back the color.

Accessories

This photo was also taken for my selective color assignment, this time using the color purple. I’d wanted to take the picture of a person this time around, so I found my friend Aimee who was wearing all purple accessories that day. I took the original photo in full color, turning it to black and white with photoshop, excluding all her matching accessories. Afterwards I used a warming filter and cropped it.

The Muggle Bus

I took this photo for the Environmental Portraits assignment, using my friend Julie on the school bus. The school bus is a common environment for most students, and in no way are they magical or fun. I was trying to portray how gloomy and boring buses are, so I softened the focus enough so that Julie is in a soft glow instead of sharp focus. Other than that I adjusted the levels and cropped the photo.

Not A Shopping Cart

This photo was for selective color. I chose the color green, and then went searching for interesting green objects besides leaves, grass, and trees. I found this milk crate from Faith Dairy and tried to find interesting shots of it. I haven’t altered the photo except to crop it and set the white balance to flash on the camera.

Shoop Da Whoop

I took this photo for the “Famous Photographer” imitations. I was mimicking John Pfahl’s “Altered Landscapes” series, the circled portion to be precise. I needed a bright, contrasting color to go against a natural setting, for which I used the tree. I didn’t alter the photo in any way except to crop it.

Thorns

I like the texture displayed in this photo. The sharp and pointy thorns look like they’re almost 3D. I used single center of interest, and out focused the background so it’s blurry. This photo is simple yet different.

The Fruits of Love

I arranged these fruits to spell the word “Love.” Then I turned it black and white and used RGB color to bring back the orange color. I like the spontaneous effect of the single color orange.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I like the simplicity in this photo, yet it seems to tell a story. For us Washingtonian’s we are in the months of rain, rain, rain and the possibility of flowers really seems fake. I turned the photo black and white, then used RGB color and the art history brush to bring back the pastel colors of the flowers.

Yellow Flower

I took this photo in my house. The assignment was called Selective Color. I turned the picture black and white, and then used RGB color and history art brush to go back and make the flower yellow. I like the unique placement of the photo.

City Under Construction

Description: This photo was taken when I went to Issaquah for the day. Over the years, this area has been developing with tons of houses and businesses; this was taken about halfway up the hill this city is being built on. I like how this picture turned out.

Love Monkey

Description: This photo was taken for the selective color assignment. For Valentine’s Day, my mom got me some little stuffed animals, so I thought it would be the perfect time to take pictures of pink. I really like how it turned out. I was only planning to make the heart stand out, but it worked out to make the eyes pink as well.

Issaquah Highlands

Description: This photo was taken in Issaquah when I went up there for a day. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take a panoramic because the landscape was so pretty. With some adjustments in Photoshop, I like how this picture turned out.

Lightning Glow

Description: I took this picture when my dad was outside working on a trailer. This was taken for the people in their environment portraits and I thought it turned out very well. My favorite part is the streams of blue coming from the focal point.

Want to sing

I took this photo to capture a lonely micro phone. I took it from above and at angle to get this photo. I used auto mood to take this photo. This micro phone was on the table I just through it would look interesting. I am Ok with how the photo came out. I would change the lighting of the photo and how I took it.

Basket Ball

I took this photo to capture the basket ball. I tried to take the photo from the ground up. I used auto mood to take this photo. You can see that the grass it more clear than the ball. I wish that the ball was clearer than the grass. So I am ok of how the photo came out. I would change the depth of Field of the ball and how I took the photo.

Ring around

I took this photo to capture the curles on this lamp post. I tried to get it where the light is different. I used auto mood to capture the photo. I was looking for something to take a photo of so I took a picture of the lamp post. I am ok with how the photo came out. I would change the lighting of the photo.

The Dark side

I wanted to take a photo that would capture the shape of the steps on our stairs. I got down low and took it. I used auto mood for this photo. You can see that there are lines that lead you in the center of the photo. One side is dark and the other side shows you lighter. I am glad that I took this photo. I would change the lighting of the photo.

Cuddle Phish

This was taken before Christmas this last December, 2010. I just saw it again in my portfolio and realized how much I love it. The textures are really outstanding, being that there isn’t just one. I normally don’t take pictures of bright colors and such but this is really cool to me. The scene of the Gingerbread house is Romeo and Juliet. Such a cute idea my sister Whitney had.  I hope you guys enjoy the clarity as much as I do.

Puddles

This was from the assignment “Make a Splash”. I was having so much trouble because I had to do this on my own and try to drop a little magnet at the right time. Finally I asked my mom for help and she dropped the magnet for me. The splashes started turning out really cool! I like this one… I love the background with the color of the cup. All I did in PhotoShop was raise the saturation a tiny.

Whitney and James

I don’t normally take photos of other photos but this one really caught my eye. My sister has a fancy for antique type things and this frame is one of her favorites. The picture in the frame is my sister and her boyfriend James kissing. I didn’t want to make things awkward by capturing the whole kissing moment so I focused on the frame, the models in the picture are just a plus that I enjoy! I didn’t edit this at all but I’m so excited about how the picture turned out. I think it’s pretty creative.

Baby Horse

My horse named Baby is only about 2 years old and he loves my camera! I love going outside and just capturing the things he and his parents do. This photo was part of my Environmental Portraits assignment. The plan was to capture pictures of anyone in their environment, I thought it’d be fun to use my horses and I was right. I really loved the outcome of this picture. In photoshop all I did was change the vibrancy a tad. I love the picture!!

Headless

I took this photo for the assignment famous photographer. This photo is of my younger sister, I wanted to get a photo that was a little bit more edger so I thought it was a cool that I would take to the photo without her head in the shot. I also wanted to put the photo in black and white to make it seem a little edger as well. I was very happy with how this photo turned out.

Tears

This photo was taken at state for boy’s basketball. I got this photo while in the last couple seconds of the game. It was the senior’s last game and all of them were very emotional. I was really happy that I got this shot because I have never gotten a shot of some ones emotions before.

Smokin in the Yard

This photo is of my younger sister pretending to smoke. This assignment was Famous Photographers and we and to pick a photographer then mimic their work. My photographer was Mary Ellen Mark and she had a photo of a five year old smoking in her back yard so I thought I would try and recreate it. I did put this photo in black and white. I was very happy with how this photo turned out and I felt like I really was a able to capture a photo that represented the work of Mary Ellen Mark.

Vikings

I took this photo at State for boy’s basketball. I really wanted to take a photo of one of the player’s shoes because in the corner of them they all had a different looking icon. This one has a Viking. I had to zoom in a lot to get this photo and get low to the ground because I wanted the basketball court in the shot as well. I was very happy with how this photo turned out and how clear and in focus the image is.
