First Snowfall

Artist: Reesa W.

It finally snowed. Only school wasn’t canceled so I thought it would be a good photo opportunity.

What?

Artist: Reesa W.

Ladybug was interested in the camera we were using to take picture and we got a lot of photos like this, but this one is my favorite.

Warm Up

We were warming up Ladybug so we could ride her and get some photos on horseback for an assignment

Honey!

I extremely love this photo. It was taken at Pike’s Market and came out amazing! The lighting is perfect, I love how it shines off the jars of honey. I am really happy how focus this is! I also like how even though the photo looks a little yellow, it gives a warm feel that you get when you see honey.

Oranges

I really love this photo. I took it at Pike’s Market and the photo came out great! There was no editing needed.

Red Roses

I took this photo at Pikes Place Market in Seattle. I saw these beautifully red roses and had to take a few pictures of them. I love how this photo turned out with the bright red of the flowers really stand out. The photo is really in focus and gives depth of field in the back. I did no editing on this image.

Graffiti Art

This photo I took by the Gum Wall in Downtown Seattle. I thought it was kind of awesome, the artwork just looked interesting. For this photo I didn’t use a special white balance or anything the photo was originally dark. But I did edit it in Photoshop I made a new layer for the colored bird and flower and make the background black and white, put the two together and I think it turned out great. I am quite pleased with it.

Walk of Honor

For this photo I was really looking just to capture the Army Men in the background. I saw that they were picking up the flags out of the ground and I thought how interesting it was. I didn’t use any special lens or white balance on my camera because the lighting outside was pretty perfect. The only editing I did to my photo was in Photoshop and I just changed the contrast to make the green a bit darker.

Gummy

For this photo I wanted to capture the gum falling or dripping down from the ledge it was stuck on. I wanted some of the gum to stand out brighter than other pieces and some to be darker. I wish I could have had a little more lighting in this photo I think it would have helped. But overall I think it’s a decent photo of gum.

Parking Sign

By: Mackenzie Y.

I took this picture on a field trip to Seattle when I was walking around taking various photos near the gum wall. I liked the way this sign had a distressed look to it and how high up it was on the wall made it unique.

Starbucks

By: Mackenzie Y.

I took this picture on a field trip to Seattle when I was walking around taking various photos. I didn’t purposely try to make this a picture but I noticed the cup would look unique since it was at eye level. I like this photo because of the way the fisheye lens gave it a cool affect and I think coffee represents the November cold weather.

Daisies

I took this photo on a field trip to Seattle when walking past a small shop. There were tons of deferent flower arrangements but this one stood out to me because of all the bright colors! I like this photo because of the bright colors and the way my fisheye lens gave it a cool affect.

A Closer Look

This was taken at the first spot where we stopped and were almost to the very top of the ridge of poo-poo point. We had been hiking for close to an hour so being able to stop and take in the scenery of the mountain was a gift.

Cliff Spot

After we had walked around the top of the ridge we hiked a bit further to find ourselves at another top point. This was a part where para-gliders would take off on clear days. Unfortunately we were unable to see any of them go off sense we got up there pretty late in the day.

Mount Rainer

By: Kathryn K.

Me and my friend ventured out to Poo-Poo Point this last Sunday and went on an 8 mile hike to the top of this ridge. When we arrived at the top we found ourselves overlooking the view of Issaquah and all the other mountains surrounding us along with a beautiful sunset.

Waiting

The lighting is dark because I wanted to give a darker feeling to the doll. The position of the doll I should have fixed but I got the setting just about what I wanted it to look like. The doll was the center of interest I didn’t want any other object beside the chair to be in the image.

Relaxing

I should of used another mug because the color of the orange monkey merges with the red mug on one side its dark I should have adjusted the lighting differently. I changed the setting so it could look interesting and not cliché. I tried to make the monkey look like it was sitting down. Next time I’m a use vivid colors but not so bright that image looks white.

Frozen Air

Artist: Reesa W.

Description: I tried taking a picture like this earlier in the year but it wasn’t cold enough to get a cool shot. I had to take the picture with the sun directly behind my friend for it to show up.

Winter Wonderland

Artist: Reesa W.

Description: This again was a frosty morning picture, I love the fine crystals on the mushrooms and grass.

Frost

Artist: Reesa W.

Description: This picture was taken in the morning, I really like the frost covering the leaves and grass. I think the rule of thirds is done nicely here

Small but Strong

The small tree stand strong as the harsh weather pounds against it, day and night. Rule of Thirds

Mushrooms and Leaves are Frozen

Artist: Amy C.

Everything has become covered in frost as the cold, brisk air moves in for the winter.   Center of Interest.

Frost Hath Fallen Over

Frost falls onto the ground as the weather cools. Creatures do their best to stay warm and alive. These mushrooms, on the other hand, thrive in the cold weather.  Rule of Thirds.

Buttons

For this photo I wanted the buttons to have a little shine to them so I tried to make the jacket part a little darker by changing how much light I was letting in. The photo is pretty basic, I wish I would have done it a bit different by letting in a little more light because the overall photo is quit dark. But the overall photo was supposed to be a close up, I think I captured the idea of that.

Fancy Bear

For this photo I put a lot of light on the bear to make it stand out. I used a window ledge to make the bear look like its sitting, I also did the picture portrait ways to help with that. I did use a little bit of Photoshop to highlight the rose on the hat. The camera setting were pretty basic nothing special. I think the overall photo is okay it could be better.

Toy Box

For this photo I took a bunch of toys and put them in a pile to create a toy box theme. I wanted more than just a standard teddy bear photo, so I created a toy box. I did take a close up of the toys instead of taking a farther back one, because the toys are the main focus. I did use Photoshop to highlight the photo and make it bright because the original shot was a little dark. I like the overall photo I think it’s a good representation of a toy box.

Man’s Honor

This photo is called the Man’s Honor because the tiger is trying save his wife from the cheetah. This photo looks very real to most people that I showed it to one of friends but this is not real. It is just toys statues and fake leaves in the back ground, but it is real to me.

Keeping Secrets Safe

This photo is called Keeping Secrets Safe the reason why I have too many secrets that I don’t want anyone to know. I love this picture. When I took this picture I knew that this picture would be about me. This is why I took this picture.

World of Autumn

I call this photo World of Autumn because all the color of the leaves. This photo is very great photo and one of my best so far. You can see a lot of details in the photo, like the cars and also the trees. When you look at it feels like you are actually there. What I did was that I fixed little of the lighting so it would be brighter than it actually was.

Watch Dog

I tried to make the stuff toy look realistic and make unique angle trying to look upwards. I tried not have merged background. I tried to change the side of the dog so it wouldn’t look dark but it just ended to get pixelated.

The lighting is dark because I wanted to give a darker feeling to the doll. The position of the doll I should have fixed but I got the setting just about what I wanted it to look like. The doll was the center if interest I didn’t want any other object beside the chair to be in the image.

Sea Shell Swirl

This was taken using a macro lens of a sea shell. I love the shadowing and bright coloring of the shell. The only thing I dislike about this is how the outer swirls are blurred. I would have preferred for them to be in sharp focus.

Scissors

This picture is a close up to a pair of scissor blades. I really like how the blades really pop out against the black back ground and how you can see the groves in the blades.

Pirate Attack

When setting up for this photo I really was aiming for a telling a story feel. I love how you can tell which side is the beach and which is the water by the beads and sea shell. The only things I would change would be to cover the whole pedestal with the beads and spread the sea shell out more. Other then that I love how this image turned out.

Rock Row

For this photo I was working on our assignment called close ups. With the glass rocks I did not want to get to close because of how I set it up. I love how you can see the lights on the rocks and the little air bubbles inside. This photo turned out great.

Lizards Apple

For this photo I was working on a project called children’s toys. I was trying different types of shots with the lizard but I did not know what to do. I tried different angle, different positions, different backdrops, and different lighting. I tried one shot on top of the apple and it turned out great so I kept going with it and ended up with this. I think that this picture is just what I was looking for.

Jungle Cats

I took this photo for a project called children’s toy. It came out nice and clear and the lighting on the glass rocks made the photo come all together. I tried different backdrops ad I found the green one to be the best. It defiantly did not take me one shot to get this picture. I tried different angles, different lighting, and different backdrops. It was a process but it turned out great!
